Man rapes friend's girlfriend

A Chitungwixza man had to endure the agony of hearing screams from his girlfriend as she was being raped by his best friend.

More Mapfumo (29), who was playing host to the couple, locked the door to his house soon after his friend went out to relieve himself and went on to rape his guest's girlfriend.

The woman is now pregnant after the condom Mapfumo used during the heinous act burst. The couple had apparently visited Mapfumo to ask him for a place for them to enjoy themselves.

After locking the door, Mapfumo allegedly produced a knife and threatened to kill the woman before raping her once. The helpless friend stood by the window as he heard his girlfriend screaming for help.

Mapfumo has since been arraigned before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Temba Kuwanda facing a rape charge under Section 65 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reformed) Act Chapter 9: 23.

Prosecutor Mr Moffat Makuvatsine said sometime in November last year at around 10pm, the victim and her boyfriend went to Mapfumo's house after spending some time at a bar in the Unit C area.

The boyfriend went to the toilet outside to relieve himself only to come back to find the door locked and to hear his girlfriend screaming.

After raping the woman, Mapfumo went out of the house while his victim also went out to find her boyfriend who had gone to make a police report.
Mapfumo pleaded not guilty to the charge. The trial continues tomorrow.
