Goblins share food with family

A family from Gweru’s Mkoba Village 13 was last week forced to temporarily abandon their house following repeated attacks by what the family members believe to be goblins.
Ms Mavis Mupandu said she and her two daughters Precious and Fungai were last week forced to seek refuge at her sister’s place in Mkoba Village Five following repeated attacks by what she believes to be goblins.
She said Precious who is doing Form Four was still complaining of a headache as a result of the attacks. The other girl Fungai is doing Form Two.
“At one time during the attacks, there was a very strange noise that drew the attention of our neighbours who rushed to the house thinking we were being attacked by robbers. When we told them we were being assaulted by invisible objects they could not believe it because they said they were seeing nothing. We were being punched all over the bodies but could not see our assailants and the neighbours could not assist because they too could not see anything,” she said.
Ms Mupandu said they had no option but to seek refuge elsewhere.
“My sister Memory had to accommodate us for two days at her house in Mkoba Village Five, as we could not stand the beatings by these strange creatures that we could not see. During the time when we were staying in Mkoba Village Five, we conducted prayers with church elders and when we returned to our house on Saturday, I could see the goblins,” she said.
Ms Mupandu said she saw seven goblins, the size of teddy bears inside her house and the creatures started talking to her.She said the goblins were boasting that they were sharing the food with the family members and even slept with her.
Ms Mupandu said she will soon visit her rural home in Zhombe to brief her parents about the strange happenings.Contacted for comment, a member of the Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers Association Mr Sydney Manzini said individuals could actually see goblins if assisted by either traditional healers or members of the apostolic faith sects.
He said goblins were used by witches to either torment enemies or amass wealth.Mr Manzini said goblins only die after the death of their owner but can also be chased way.
