AN 81-YEAR-OLD grandpa yesterday accused his 77-year-old wife of having an affair with their 19-year-old grandson.

Marunge Dhumuku stunned a courtroom when he said his wife, Mrs Ruwiza Dhumuku was bedding their grandson. Sekuru Dhumuku opened up at the Harare civil court where Gogo Dhumuku was applying for a protection order against her husband. Sekuru Dhumuku said his wife was shamelessly having sex with their grandson. “This woman has abandoned me. “She says I am no longer sexually active,” he said. His wife was now sleeping in their grandson’s bedroom where she was getting sexual fulfilment, he alleged.

“I am sleeping alone in the main bedroom while she sleeps with our grandson.”  He alleged he was beaten up by the grandson after he asked him why they were “doing such a shameful thing”.  Gogo Dhumuku confirmed her husband’s allegations. But she said she was prompted to act the way she did because her husband was not always at home.

“Your Worship, this man is not always at home. This boy in question is the one who is looking after me, along with the other four kids of my late children,” she said. “He (Sekuru Dhumuku) has to go back to the rural areas where he has been staying all along. Why is he coming back now?” she said. Magistrate Rebecca Tahwa deferred ruling to today.
