Zimbabwe News Online: The three pregnant wives's man flees to South Africa The three pregnant wives's man flees to South Africa ================================================================================ Chronicle on 31 August, 2010 02:46:00 Last Ndlovu, who was unemployed, claimed to have impregnated the three women. The women are Faith Mkwebu (22), Mercy Sibanda (23) and Precious Ncube (24) all from the same neighbourhood, and they all claim to be three months pregnant. In an interview, the young man’s mother, Mrs Joyce Ndlovu, said her son went to South Africa a week ago without them being aware. “Last left unceremoniously for South Africa a week ago without my or his father’s consent. He stole 1 500 rand that we had in the house which his brother, John, who is in that country sent us for the upkeep of the family,” she said. Mrs Ndlovu said her son left a note in which he said had crossed the border to South Africa and that the family should not be troubled by his whereabouts. “I have taken 1 500 rand which was in the wardrobe and I have gone to South Africa. Don’t be troubled about my whereabouts,” reads part of the letter which was shown to this reporter. Mrs Ndlovu claimed that none of the family members, including her son’s “three wives”, suspected that he could flee the country. “We thought that as a family we had discussed this issue with his in-laws and amicably resolved the matter. But when he, as the man at the centre of this mess, just disappears without informing us and even one of his wives, we really just don’t understand the signal Last is trying to put across,” she said. “We are not sure of his intention of going to South Africa without letting us know of his journey. Maybe he has gone to seek refuge in that country after all this mess. We are worried because as in that note, not much details were outlined,” said Mrs Ndlovu. She said she would continue staying with her daughters’-in-law even if her son does not show up. The three “wives”, who knew they were dating the same man before being impregnated at once, said they were not aware of their husband’s intended journey. The women echoed similar sentiments and insisted that they were not going anywhere and would stay with their in-laws. Mr Ndlovu’s in-laws refused to talk to the Press saying the matter was being handled between their families and not through the media. When this paper broke Mr Ndlovu’s story a few weeks ago, the young man said he loved all his “wives” and saw nothing wrong for a man of his age becoming a polygamist and marrying the wives at once. He said although he was not employed, he was looking forward to relocating to his rural home in Mberengwa with his wives and start farming this coming farming season.
