Zimbabwe News Online: Masimba Musodza and Barbara Nyagomo please stop involving my name in your dispute Masimba Musodza and Barbara Nyagomo please stop involving my name in your dispute ================================================================================ Press Release on 05 September, 2010 06:39:00 I am kindly asking that you leave my name out of it.I don't even know who AfricanaAristocrat is and where he is apart from suspecting that he could be Kudzayi who we see here posting news stories from that website .I am a very open minded and frank person.I don't need Edmund to help me fight people who smear my name.I do it on my own here and I also have well wishers who are ready to publish stories involving my name without taking a second to think about it, so I don't need Kudzayi.I'm sure you know that too.At this point I would like to advise you to deal with Africanaristocrat without involving my name as I don't even know how One million Zimbabwean Voices operates. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Mr Kudzayi The story below show how desperate Zimbabwe online papers crap around for stories and go to press to smear people's images just to get traffic to their sites and feed personal egos and vendettas. It is a shame on our country that a few people can have such disgusting thoughts on fellow countrymen and women trying to make a difference when they are sitting on their laurels. If such individuals who call themselves journalist can focus their energy on constructive criticism maybe their resources which we all rely on and put our trust in maybe only maybe we can start to rise up as a people and as a nation. This tory can be found on http://www.africanaristocrat.com/?p=1242 I am responding in my capacity as the Press Relations Officer of 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices Ltd. I did not want to respond at all because it is my view that the article in question is inspired by not by any sense of duty to the journalism profession, but yet another drive-by shooting of Ms Barbara Nyagomo-Mambo as part of a ridiculous vendetta. I deplore that you have chosen to drag 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices Ltd in what is a personal feud between yourself- and no doubt an alliance of others-and Ms Barbara Nyagomo-Mambo. The wording of the article suggests that your particular problem with Mrs Nyagomo-Mambo stems from her supposed ambition to become President of Zimbabwe. Ordinarily, harbouring such ambitions would not engender animosity in other people, but there is nothing ordinary about your motives, is there? And to mention Mike Mambo, Barbara's husband alleged fraud conviction without citing the websites on which these reports were carried further shows you to be a liar. The only such websites which carried these claims are those belonging to self-aggrandising, self-styled protest singer Vio Mak. She is on record as having griped that the media wasn't taking her seriously enough, so she started her own newsite. It is around the same time that her feud with Barbara Nyagomo-Mambo and others, who have since withdrawn from public life, began. If Mr Mambo is currently incarcerated, he must have the most lenient parole conditions in this country. How else could he have been in Aldershot on the 14th of August 2010, where myself and more than 10 people were in his company until the late hours of that day? Not only that, but we have talked occasionally on the phone. You do not need to contact his wife to verify this, dozens of people from all walks of life are aware of the man and his work. I digress. I challenge you to prove any of the claims made in your article. 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices Ltd was not founded by Barbara Nyagomo-Mambo on her own, but was the brainchild of Barbara Nyagomo-Mambo, myself, Mr Rob Strobel, Mr Dunny Derera and Ms Betina Siwela. The latter two later withdrew, citing other committments. Mr Derera is involved with a credit union, while Ms Siwela is with another charitable organisation. It is this collective that has been responsible for funding 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices Ltd. I challenge you to demonstrate that Mrs Nyagomo-Mambo is under investigation over any alleged misconduct regarding the operations of 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices Ltd. I also challenge you to demonstrate that money anywhere near that figure you cited was paid out to our associate organisation in South Africa. While you are at it, perhaps you would be able to explain how 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices South Africa was able to raise such a sum considering the fact that they are dealing with a more debilitating bureaucracy, which limits their current capacity to solicit for donations. Finally, I turn to the suggestion that Mrs Nyagomo-Mambo is a pawn of purpoted Rhodesian intrigue. The same tired line that makes even those at Herald House cringe! To prop up this yet another ludicrous claim, you chose a picture of Mrs Nyagomo-Mambo attended by two women of European appearance, presumably her Rhodesian handlers! You neglected to mention that the picture was lifted off Barbara Nyagomo-Mambo's facebook page. Speaking of which, isn't it a fact that just about everything you have "discovered" about this woman comes not from any commendable skills of investigative journalism, but from scouring Facebook? You also neglected to mention that among the two ladies one of them donated 2 truckloads of books for Zimbabwean children. I am not aware of any financial contributions from them to 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices Ltd. I know Barbara paid for her own transport to this meeting, as she does with all others. These two ladies become Rhodesians for the convenience of your pathetic campaign to misinform in order to malign, but I am sure that the schools set to benefit from their hard work see them in a completely different light.
